Counterfeit Repentance

The book of Jonah follows the story of a rebellious prophet, but more so, it is the story of God's relentless grace toward those who are perishing. In today's text Jonah finds himself rescued in the most unusual of ways: a fish that the Lord appointed to the task. Yet even here, and even in spite of Jonah's superficial repentance, God is pursuing His saving purposes.
