The book of Ezra recounts the faithfulness of God in restoring the remnant of His people to the Promised Land, and the restoration of worship. Throughout the book we see the work of God in not only rebuilding but reviving and renewing His people. In today's text, Ezra recounts the obedient worship of the returning exiles, who sacrificially and whole-heartedly sang and worshipped, all in accordance with God's Word. Their example informs how our worship should be whole-hearted and Word-driven.
