The book of Ezra recounts the faithfulness of God in restoring the remnant of His people to the Promised Land, and the restoration of worship. Throughout the book we see the work of God in not only rebuilding but reviving and renewing His people. In today's text, we are introduced to an exemplary disciple, one who is devoted to the Word of God and seeks to make disciples of others. As Ezra is commissioned by King Artaxerxes, we are challenged to obey the commission of our King, King Jesus.
