Lead Pastor
Jonathan was called as Lead Pastor in January of 2016 after serving a three month interim at the church. Prior to that, he and his wife, Tara, served as managers of a Chick-fil-A in Columbus, Ohio. While living there, they were faithful and active members at Sharon Woods Baptist Church.
Jonathan earned his B.A. from Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio, and his M.Div. in Biblical Counseling from Southern Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. He was ordained in 2014 while preparing to fully answer the call that God has placed on his life. His passion is seeing God’s Spirit use His Word to bring about life transformation in His people.
Jonathan enjoys landscaping and going on hikes with Tara. The two met in middle school and were married in May of 2008. They have four sons, one of whom went to be with Jesus shortly after he was born.

Pastor
David was called to join our pastoral team in August of 2024 after having served with his wife, Charity, as one of our children’s ministry teachers for several years. He was ordained here at FBC Mt. Orab at the same time. Occupationally, he has led a family business building residential foundations, worked in full time pastoral ministry, and currently serves within a public works department for a local municipality. He and Charity have been married for twenty-six years and have two adult sons who are both following the Lord Jesus.
David earned a B.A. with a focus of business administration from Wilmington College. He went on to earn a M.A. of Theological Studies and a M. Div. with a focus on Evangelism and Church Planting from Liberty University’s Theological Seminary. He loves God’s word and has found it to be a great treasure. For the last twenty years, it has been critically used by the Holy Spirit to transform not only his life, but also the life of his family.
David and Charity enjoy interacting with other believers and hearing how God has shown Himself faithful in their testimonies. Beyond this, he enjoys spending time with family, playing in the great outdoors, and especially hiking.

Ed Jones - Ed.Jones@fbcmtorab.org
Pastor of Evangelism and Outreach
Ed accepted Christ to be his Lord and Savior on September 15th, 1969, just prior to entering basic training for the Army. He served our country a total of six years – three years of active duty, including one year in Vietnam, and three years of inactive duty.
For the past 49 years, Ed has taught both Adult and Children’s Sunday School classes, the last nineteen of those years at First Baptist Church of Mount Orab. On September 8, 1981, Ed was ordained as a deacon at the First Missionary Baptist Church (Batavia, Ohio), where he served faithfully in that role. He also served as a deacon at Central Baptist Church (Amelia, Ohio), and then at First Baptist Church (Mount Orab, Ohio) before being called and ordained as a pastor. His greatest joy is seeing someone accept Jesus as Lord of their life and to be a part of discipling them to become mature in Christ, in all things glorifying God.
Ed has been married to his wife, Lovinda, for over 50 years. God has blessed them with three children, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Ed enjoys spending time with family and watching sports (especially when his grandchildren are involved!).
