A Night of Thanks. Giving.

Fear has a way of robbing us of thankfulness.  It directs our attention inward rather than upward or outward.  It pushes us away from God and others.  Join us for a fun and relaxing family-friendly dinner event that is designed to help us be thankful for the many blessings God has given us, as well as be a blessing to those in our community.

When: Sunday, November 21, 2021 @ 6:00pm
Where: Worship Center @ First Baptist Church, Mount Orab (across from the Library)
What: Dinner, songs, and activities designed to help us give thanks
Cost: FREE!!*
*See below for ways we will be giving back during the night, but all participation is voluntary

Giving, not just Thanking

This year, being guided by Psalm 107, we will first direct our attention to God in thanks, and then direct our hearts outward to others by giving. Some ways of giving will be as simple (and free!) as writing a letter of thanks to someone God has used to help you in a time of trouble, and writing a note of thanks to a local veteran. We will also be turning our attention outward by collecting certain non-perishable food items which our deacons will distribute to families in our community who are in need this Holiday Season. Please consider bringing items from the following list with you:

  • Canned Green Beans
  • Canned Corn
  • Canned Yams
  • Baked Beans
  • Boxed Macaroni and Cheese
  • Boxed Instant Mashed Potatoes
  • Boxed Stuffing Mix

If you are unable to bring items, there will be an opportunity to contribute financially (for the purchase of hams to accompany the non-perishable items), and for the purchase of Bibles through The Gideon’s International. Please note that these ways of giving back are in no way obligatory, nor do they benefit First Baptist Church.
