Appreciation Celebration

Pastor Bobby and his wife Shelley have faithfully served our church and our children for over 15 years, and we are so thankful for them! As “Mr. Bobby” shared at our business meeting, he and Shelley will be moving to Kentucky as soon as their house sells to be near their family. This means we will unfortunately have to say goodbye to this precious couple.

The legacy that they leave is immense, and the lives they have touched are incalculable. Barring any COVID restrictions that would prevent us from gathering, we are planning an appreciation celebration for Sunday, December 13th at 6:00 pm. Fitting in with Pastor Bobby’s love for Christmas, this evening will be filled with Christmas carols and Christmas activities, including a Nativity contest!

How can you show your appreciation?

Attending the Celebration

Mr. Bobby has always been here for us and our children, regularly giving up his vacation for summer camps and VBS. Sometimes the best way to show our appreciation is by just being present. In order to best prepare for the evening, we are asking that you RSVP. This will also enable us communicate with you should we need to alter our plans for the night.

We realize how uniquely difficult being present can be during this COVID season, so if you should not attend or cannot attend (or we have to cancel the gathering), here are a two other ways to show your appreciation:

Videos

We want to have as many video testimonies as possible of the impact that Pastor Bobby and Shelley have had on your life or the life of your children. Should we have to cancel the in-person celebration, these videos will preserve the legacy for Pastor Bobby and Shelley. Please record your video in landscape (sideways, not upright) and try to keep it to 2 minutes or less. Feel free to be silly or serious, creative or simple, as you share the specific ways his ministry has impacted your life. Please email your video to kim@fbcmtorab.org no later than Friday, December 11th. If the video is too large for email, you might try sending it as a Google Drive link, or bringing it by the office on a USB drive.

Cards

We will be collecting cards to give to Pastor Bobby and Shelley on that evening. Few things bring greater encouragement to a Children’s Pastor’s heart than a hand-written note of appreciation from his kids (past and present!). A card also enables you to show your appreciation through a gift, should you feel so led. Please mail your cards to P.O. Box 35, Mount Orab, OH 45154. If you are local, you can always drop them off at the church office (Tuesday through Thursday, 9am – 3pm).
